Deposit guidelines

Security deposits should be clear before handover.

For high-value rentals, deposits may help reduce risk, but final deposit amount and handling are confirmed manually before any rental proceeds.

Why deposits may be used

Renting out expensive equipment like cameras, drones, and gear involves inherent risk. A security deposit workflow helps mitigate this risk by ensuring funds are available to cover potential damages, missing accessories, or significant delays in return.

Who decides deposit expectations

Owners ultimately decide the deposit requirement for their assets. The Rental Circle may provide guidance or standard frameworks, but the final deposit amount is an agreement between the owner and the renter, coordinated manually during our early access phase.

What deposit discussions should include

Before any handover occurs, both parties must clearly agree on the deposit amount, how it will be held, the conditions under which it will be refunded, and the exact timeline for that refund. Clear communication prevents disputes.

What deposits do not guarantee

A security deposit does not cover total loss or extreme negligence if the value of the asset far exceeds the deposit amount. Deposits are a friction layer and a partial security measure, not comprehensive insurance. We do not promise automatic or guaranteed refunds.

How The Rental Circle coordinates during early access

Currently, The Rental Circle relies on manual coordination for high-value rentals in Hyderabad. We assist in communicating the deposit requirements from the owner to the renter and ensure both parties have documented their agreement before the rental begins. We are actively developing integrated payment and deposit holding features for future phases.
